Thomas Stanes
Born in 1837 Mr.Thomas Stanes came to India in June 1855 and opened Adderley Estate. He started " The Coonoor Day School " , popularly known as "Stanes School" in 1858. He purchased the Colacumbie Coffee Estate in 1865. Lent his name to T.Stanes and Co., in 1886. Died after being thrown from his horse in January 1905.
